Yoga for a Strength and Mobility

It is important to maintain strength and balance throughout your lifetime.  Once we reach approximately 30 years of age, muscle tissue and bone mineral density begin to deteriorate.  This can lead to increased risk of injury, loss of balance, and joint pain.  
 
What many of us don’t know is that strong muscles lead to strong bones.  As we maintain muscle strength, our muscles are also able to react quickly and powerfully to keep us upright when we lose our balance.  
 
This class will help to build and maintain muscle mass and strength; improving bone health, balance, flexibility and stamina.  Through yoga postures and breathing techniques, this class will also help to relieve stress and calm the nervous system. Small hand held weights (optional) will, at times, be incorporated into this practice.
If you miss a class, you are welcome to make it up in any of our other classes, as long as space allows. Classes must be made up during the 8 week session. You are welcome to join a class at anytime.
